Harmos Horton Lusk was recognised for its role in advising Centuria Capital on its successful NZ$175 million takeover of Augusta Capital, winning the Mid-market Deal of the Year award at the 2021 New Zealand Law Awards held late last month. The Harmos Horton Lusk team that advised Centuria Capital was led by director Nathanael Starrenburg and also included director Annie Steel and associates Jason Maddox and Emily Warren.

In granting the award, the judges’ comments described the deal as “An unusual transaction undertaken in reliance of unique exemptions requiring innovative legal thinking” and a “multi-faceted and complex transaction which was ultimately executed effectively in unique circumstances”.

Harmos Horton Lusk also received excellence awards for:

  • Mid-Market Deal of the Year for the $136 million ‘take private’ of Abano Healthcare Group.
  • Equity Market Deal of the Year for the $98 million block trade sell down of shares in Pushpay.
    • Mid-size Law Firm of the Year.
