Harmos Horton Lusk was recognised at the 2022 New Zealand Law Awards winning Insolvency and Restructuring Deal of the Year for its role in advising Villa Maria Estate Limited and its shareholder FFWL Limited (In Receivership) on the sale of all the shares in Villa Maria Estate Limited and the sale of land surplus to Villa Maria Estate’s core operating requirements. The Harmos Horton Lusk team that advised Villa Maria and FFWL Limited was led by director Andrew Harmos and included senior associate Kelsey Lindsay.

In granting the awards, the Judges' described the deal as "A complex and large restructure and sale of an iconic brand, involving challenging circumstances; The complexity and navigation of the challenging issues made this nomination stand out."

Harmos Horton Lusk also received excellence awards for:

  • M&A Deal of the Year for Powering Australian Renewables’ and Mercury NZ’s acquisition of Tilt Renewables by Scheme of Arrangement.

  • Mid-size Law Firm of the Year.
