Emma Barnett

Emma has considerable experience in corporate and commercial transactions both in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.  Emma specialises in advising on acquisitions, divestments, takeovers, joint ventures and shareholding arrangements. She also advises listed and unlisted companies on general corporate and securities law matters, including corporate reorganisations, private capital raisings, public securities offers and employee share schemes.

Before joining Harmos Horton Lusk, Emma was a senior associate at Russell McVeagh in Auckland, a senior associate at Allen & Overy in London and an associate at Kensington Swan in Auckland.

Advised NYSE listed Unity Software on its US$1.625 billion acquisition of Weta Digital Limited’s digital assets


Advised NZX listed Radius Residential Care on a direct listing on the NZX Main Board ($141 million implied initial market capitalisation) and a subsequent $40 million placement and retail offer


Advised NASDAQ listed Autodesk on its acquisition of Moxion, the New Zealand-based developer of a cloud-based digital dailies platform used in the film and entertainment industries


Advised NZX / ASX dual listed AFT Pharmaceuticals on its $76 million placement, share purchase plan and block trade transaction


Advised Mercury Capital on the sale of Hexagon Holdings to Multi-Color Corporation


Advised Fulton Hogan Limited on its acquisition of Stevenson Construction Materials Limited - one of New Zealand's largest aggregate producers
